En tant que clinicien et scientifique, Dr Bergeron s’intéresse à l’expression des hyperlipidémies primaires, à la validation de nouveaux marqueurs métaboliques sanguins (apoB, hs-CRP,…) comme outil de stratification du risque CV en pratique clinique courante et à la myopathie associée aux statines. Il est investigateur pour de nombreux essais cliniques utilisant de nouveaux agents hypolipidémiants, diverses thérapies contre le syndrome métabolique ou le diabète de type 2 et il possède une expertise clinique particulière concernant les dyslipidémies liées aux maladies rénales et à la transplantation.
