Mission and Vision
CRCHUQ’s Mission
Research is one of CHUQ’s four core missions. Focusing on innovation and excellence, it is tightly interwoven with CHUQ’s three other core missions, including the evaluation of health technologies and intervention methods (ETMIS).
Research activities are oriented as much as possible to dovetail with CHUQ’s areas of clinical specialty—cancer research, pediatrics, bone marrow grafts, vascular diseases, obstetrics, neonatal research, and telehealth.
CRCHUQ’s research mission aims to advance knowledge with a view to developing practical methods for improving healthcare and promoting health and quality of life.
Recognized by the health research funding agency, Fonds de recherche en santé du Québec (FRSQ), CRCHUQ has signed a partnership agreement with Université Laval to maintain and develop a body of expertise and excellence and provide an environment for training health researchers and professionals in each research area. CRCHUQ collaborates with other research centers and provides the scientific community with specialized services unavailable elsewhere.
CRCHUQ’s Vision
By 2013, CRCHUQ will have demonstrated its capacity to adapt to the changes affecting how health research is conducted in Quebec and will have consolidated its national and international positioning. CRCHUQ will be particularly recognized for the following:
- Innovative research
- A high level of excellence
- Research focused on key health issues and providing concrete results for improving care and population health
